ROLLS-ROYCE, LTD. INSTRUCTIONS. To E7C Order No. WDII Customer's No. X 8710 Tests of standard ignition coil on 10EX. The engine was first tested at normal running temp i.e 80°C at low speeds and on the pick up, at normal voltage (battery charge switched off), normal contact breaker setting, and with standard double ballast resistance. These tests shewed the ignition to be OK. The engine was then warmed up and maintained at 95-100°C for over 30 mins after which low speeds and pick up were again tried. Low speed running was found to be OK but on the pick up misfires occured although not always consistent i.e. sometimes the ignition was OK but others misfiring was very bad. The ballast was then replaced Signed (contd) This Sheet must be filed on completion of the work. | ||
