Messrs. Rolls Royce, Ltd.,
DERBY.

Dear Sirs,

Referring to your letter of the 29th, we are dealing with this in the absence of our Mr. G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} R.{Sir Henry Royce} N. Minchin, who is at present away from the office unwell.

With regard to the suggestions that you make in connection with the supply of a 12 m/m plate, we are strongly of the opinion that you will not obtain any longer life from plates of this thickness than what you do with the present plates, assuming that the same conditions of operation continue.

On giving the matter our further consideration, we are of the opinion that it would be very much better for our chief Chemist, Mr. Preston to come to Derby and discuss with you fully the conditions under which these cells have to work, as we think it is quite possible that he could so alter the working that a longer life would be obtained from the cells of the type at present installed.

Mr. Preston could make it convenient to come to Derby on either Wednesday, Thursday or Friday of next week, January the 6th, 7th and 8th, and we shall be much obliged, if you will kindly advise us which of these days will be most suitable, to your Mr. West.

We trust that you will agree to our suggestion, and hope that Mr. Preston's call will enable some satisfactory arrangement to be made.

Yours faithfully,
PRITCHETT & GOLD AND E.P.S. COMPANY, LIMITED.
