Steering clatter issue on the 25/30 HP model, tracing the cause and requesting modified parts.

There is quite a loud clatter audible at the top of the steering column on practically every corner. This has been traced to the rear joint of the side steering tube and can be reproduced in the garage by turning the steering wheel so as to load up one spring in the side steering tube and then joggling it. It occurs on either lock. We conclude that the load required to pull the car round the average corner, happens to coincide with the choc-a-block load, and the joggles rattle the ball pad on and off the stop. Can you let us have some modified parts to try and overcome the trouble? It appears that we could reduce length of the rods which form the guides for the ball pads and thereby allow more travel before the joint becomes choc-a-block.
