Rear Brakes (Continued).

7. The hexagon provided on pedestal GB.2838/9 is inaccessible; we suggest the hexagon be carried through to the other end of the pedestal.

8. With brakes assembled on axle the shoes cannot be adjusted, as dust cover GB.2834-5 prevents access to the pins in adjusting rod.

9. No. 140 snap head semi-tubular rivets for oil drain are .140 diameter, whereas the holes provided are .201 diameter.

10. Oil drain GW.1537 when fitted covers a rivet hole for oil guard GB.2378.

11. Pull rod assembly shown on R.R.Sch.1119 and N.Sch.5178 is not foolproof. GB.2859 junction piece can be adjusted in such a manner as to become dangerous if an inexperienced person should attempt to adjust the brakes.

12. When brakes are assembled the outer diameter over the linings exceeds 12" with adjustment at zero, so that the brake drum cannot be fitted until the linings have been reduced by filing.

13. We suggest a temporary dust cover be provided to prevent dust and filings entering the adjustment during brake bedding, etc.

Rear Hubs LOP.GB.3024.

14. Taper bolts GB.2846 are long enough for full nuts and too long for lock nuts as called for on LOP. We recommend that these bolts be replaced by parallel bolts for production purposes.

15. Rear wheel drivers GB.2962 are fouling the ends of studs G.100037 in axle tube nuts GB.832-3. Also difficulty is experienced in fitting nuts to studs G.100037. We suggest these studs be replaced by cheese head screws similar to those shown on N.Sch.5192.
