The oil consumption for the first 17,000 miles averaged 1,000 m.p.g. but latterly this consumption has dropped to 300 m.p.g.

As already stated we fitted a set of scraper rings to the pistons this gave us an improved oil consumption for a period of 4,000 to 5,000 miles then gradually deteriorated.

The maximum bore wear of this engine taken at 35,500 miles was .013".

AUSTIN - 10 HP.

This car has been very reliable and trouble free throughout its mileage of 20,000 miles.
