Further to our previous report on the above we have fitted up a pair of the improved pattern Jack on the rear of a P.II car. The locking device, for the closed up position of the jack appears adequate and the protection against mud etc, is improved. As regards ease of manipulation, range of lift etc, there points are the same as previously reported and are very good. there is one point which requires modification, the base plate of the jack (which is clipped up to the spring clips) is much too weak, it bends very badly when the nuts on the fixing clips are pulled up tightly. If this is modified suitably, we see no reason to object to the use of these jacks on the rear axle where customers call for them. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey} | ||
