For attention of Mr. Kent.

Dear Sirs,

For your information we are testing out the new type fuel pump diaphragms which you handed to the writer.

One pair is now running in one of our cars with a view to ascertaining the life of the material under general running conditions. Separate diaphragms have been placed in the following fuels -

(1) Benzole
(2) Alcohol
(3) D.T.D.230 (70% Benzole + 30% Aviation No.1 + 4 c.c's lead/gallon.
(4) Acetone
(5) No.1 petrol.

So far there is only one change, that being the diaphragm in Acetone, this has considerably stiffened but apart from this there is no sign of cracking.

We are also endeavouring to analyse one of these diaphragms and will let you know the result as soon as obtained.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
