E/L1d.4/HP. 12th May 1936. difficulty has been appreciated previously but we cannot, owing to production commitments, modify the design immediately. We propose, however, to alter this point at the earliest opportunity. We note that you have made arrangements to delete the tail of the engraved arrow on the pump control knobs. With regard to the wording on the final die cast knobs, we have examined your detail 1424 x 4 and have decided that the arrangement shewn meets with our approval if the tail of the arrow is deleted and the arrow head increased in size slightly. We should be glad, therefore, if you would arrange for this to be done. Mr Bailey has shewn us your letter to him in connection with the operating instructions, and we have told him that we do not now propose to alter the wording on the hand knobs. There is nothing, therefore, to stop you from going ahead with the instruction pamphlet. Yours faithfully, For and on behalf of ROLLS-ROYCE Limited A.G.ELLIOTT CHIEF DESIGNER. | ||
