HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry{Shadwell Grylls} X116b E/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey}4/HP. 12th May 1936. Messrs. Donald Sessions & Co.Ltd., 906, Harrow Road, Willesden, LONDON.N.W.10. For the attention of Mr Donald Sessions. Dear Sirs, re D.W.S. Hand Hydraulic Jacks - Phantom III. We beg to acknowledge receipt of your three letters of the 11th inst. With regard to our proposed visit to Messrs. R.T.Shelleys, we have acted on your offer and our Messrs. Grylls and Lidsey have arranged with Mr Lindall to go over on Friday morning next. We have tested out the jacking systems on the first five production chassis, and out of these we have found two jacks which leak and one which will not retract after use without outside assistance. We propose to take these to Shelleys on Friday, together with some jacks off an experimental chassis, which are at the moment leaking very badly. We shall be interested to receive the set of jacks fitted with loose pressure glands, but would again emphasise that our main problem is to get the present design right, because we are committed to it for production, and cannot at this stage consider an alternative scheme. We have noted your suggestion in connection with removing the front jacks from a completed car. This | ||
