664 SECRET. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rml2/R.16.7.38. Wraith Carburetter Flooding on a Gradient. We have now completed some comparisons between the Wraith and the 25/30 flooding on a gradient. The present 25/30 starts to flood on an upward gradient of 1 in 14½, the Wraith on an upward gradient of 1 in 7½. When the carburetter does flood owing to the high pressure petrol pump used in the Wraith, rather more fuel is passed into the Induction Pipe. We cannot detect, however, that a hot start is any more difficult on the Wraith on a gradient of 1 in 7½ than on the 25/30. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
