Honeypot Lane,
Stanmore,
Middlesex.

Dear Sirs,

Further to our letter of the 22nd. with regard to the provisional specification for the Phantom III carburetter, will you please include the following in the specification.

We are getting appreciable variation in float needle movement ranging in the extreme from .050 to .100.

As we have had trouble due to starvation through lack of feed through the needle orifice we should like you to see that the needle movement is up to a stipulated figure.

From previous tests a .100 movement should be taken as the minimum and we should be pleased if you would ensure that the carburetters give this movement before you deliver to our works.

In order to obtain this it appears that in some cases you will have to reduce the height of the float stop in the carburetters.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
