To EH. from ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} c. to Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} India Tyres for Bentley Chassis 5.50 x 18.0 Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}3/E13.7.33 - It is noted we may proceed with the necessary arrangements with the India Company for supply of Tyres as outlined in ROY{Sir Henry Royce}1/MG11.7.33, Paragraph (a), i.e., standardise them, reserving to ourselves the right to fit Tyres of another make where a client specifically asks for same, such arrangement to cover our requirements to July 31st.1934 - and I am proceeding accordingly. India standard Tyres are those manufactured by the India Company as their standard product, and issued in the ordinary course of business to the Public. The India Tyres we have been testing for the Bentley Chassis are special, and embody various modifications to meet our exacting requirements, and it is these special Tyres the India Company will supply for the car in question. I may mention that Rubber is appreciating steadily. It touched practically 4d per lb last night, compared with 3.1/8d at the end of June, when we were negotiating the Dunlop Contract.
