To Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} From Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to Sor. c. to Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to C. c. to Ox. Re. Tyres for Bentley Chassis. Replying to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}3/E13.7.33. All our Bentley cars have been tested with the India tyres which we are proposing to standardise and these are the tyres which the India Tyre Co. recommend to suit our requirements. The position as regards India tyres is no different to the position we are in with Dunlop tyres, that is we demand a certain degree of silence which necessitates an improved form of tread, so in the same way that the Dunlop people make us a special tread the India people have done so. As soon as the available stocks are used up, the tread as on our India tyres will be used generally. The India tyres which we have been running are the only ones we can standardise for the Bentley. We are very pleased with them. They are very good for silence, and are very good for non-skid. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
