Upon receipt of yours EFC2/T18.4.29, we duly communicated with Messrs. North & Sons Ltd., regarding the cost of repairs to Magneto No. 99802, and we are now in receipt of a copy of maker's report which reads as follows:-

"We beg to acknowledge receipt of your letter of the 19th inst. regarding Magneto No. 99802 recently repaired under your Order No.R.7669, and would point out that the magneto was supplied on October 31st 1927 since which date various modifications have been made in details.

It was sent to us on May 15th 1928 and a considerable amount of work was done in incorporating the modifications which had been introduced since it was originally delivered.

No charge was made for the work then carried out but we think you will agree that the charge we now propose to make, for making such further modifications as were necessary to bring it up to the present standard, is justified, and we trust that after giving considerable to this explanation you will favour us with an order to cover the work."

Please let us have your comments as soon as possible.

Roy.{Sir Henry Royce}
