CONDITION OF 9-G-111 CHASSIS X5840 AFTER 10,000 MILES. Attached is a report on the condition of 9-G-111 chassis after 10,000 miles in France. This is the 20 HP. car which ran the first test fitted with 4-wheel brakes. The general condition of the car after 10,000 miles is exceedingly good. The chief failures were - the battery box which failed and the front wing stays which broke at the flange where bolted to the pipe. The car was built up with only the parts repaired and replaced where necessary. The same car is now running a further 10,000 miles test in France. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
