COPY. BARKER & CO (Coachbuilders) LTD., 66-68, SOUTH AUDLEY STREET, LONDON. W.1. 18th. September 1923. Ref:- TC/ER. Dear Sirs, Re:- R.R. 'Barker' All-Weather 49-PE. Lady Vincent Meredith called upon us this morning in reference to the above car and mentions that under certain conditions the back axle jars and jolts very considerably to her considerable discomfort. We have had a similar experience on certain cars and would like to have your opinion as to whether the fitting of suitable shock absorbers overcomes this difficulty. We shall be glad, therefore, to hear your opinion, and if you agree that shock absorbers would cure it, will you please let us know if you could supply these all ready for fitting to the car, and what the cost would be. Lady Vincent Meredith also has one of your 1912 cars fitted with 'Hooper' Limousine body and the springs of this car have become soft, and although they have been set up and retempered locally, they are very little better. Her Ladyship has therefore raised the query, could you trace the number of the chassis from your records and supply a set of springs which could be sent out to Canada and fitted locally. If this can be done, would you please also say if you could supply a set of shock absorbers for the car. Yours faithfully, For BARKER & CO. (Coachbuilders) LTD. (Signed) T. Coates. Sales Manager. | ||
