Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to BJ. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Y7096 E2/1430.8.28. EAC.10 ENGINE. K.7090 K.411 X.1770 Referring to your report Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/ACL1/LG28.8.28., it is concluded that an alteration to the timing would be beneficial, and R.{Sir Henry Royce} would like you to get out at Derby a new exhaust cam utilising the present exhaust for the new inlet. Two new camshafts should be prepared with different angles between the cams giving timing diagrams as follows :- No.1. Diagram details: IN 4, 12 EX., 61 DIV, 57 DIV, IN 52, 52 EX. Angle between cams = 114° No.2. Diagram details: IN 6, 10 EX., 61 DIV., 57 DIV, IN 54, 54 EX. Angle between cams = 116° Clearance in both cases = .013 so that timing should shew heavy accelerations only. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
