Y4226 c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/H28.1.24. re. 20-HP Faulty Valve Springs. Further to my memo EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}2/H14.1.24. I am today sending you two further valve springs which have broken on 20-HP cars on test, i.e. Nos. 756 and 790. This is now the third spring we have had broken on test and I feel rather alarmed that if they break on test they may break in service with a considerably increased percentage. Can some method of testing and inspection of the material etc. now being carried out on the 40/50 also be applied to the 20-HP ? Probably you may feel that there was some doubtful batch of which got through. If so, I shall be glad if you will let me know what action you propose to take in order to deal with possible cars on test or delivered which may have springs fitted with doubtful material. EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} | ||
