Exide Batteries Continuation No. 2. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd. Details of the modified battery which we have called type 6-XRM 7-1ML, are given in the enclosed blue print GC.55388, which also shews a cover fitted, but this can be dispensed with if not required. Alternatively we can offer you the choice of a 12-volt battery made up in two 6-volt units in moulded containers of the integral handle type. This battery type 2-3XR 9-1, one unit of which is shewn in the enclosed drawing GC.55389, would be fitted with XR 9 elements, comprising 4 positive plates 5/32" thick, and 5 negatives the intermediate plates being 1/8" and the end plates 3/32" thick, With this battery we can offer you a capacity of 63 ampere hours at the 10 hour rate, or 70 " " " 20 " " The approximate weight of each 6-volt unit complete with acid would be 44 lbs. You will notice that we do not provide a cover with this battery. Perhaps you would be good enough to consider our proposals, and if any of the batteries suggested will meet your requirements, we shall be only too pleased to go into the matter further with a view to quoting you prices. Yours faithfully, FOR THE CHLORIDE ELECTRICAL STORAGE COMPANY LD. W.L. Davies | ||
