1029 1180 Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale}10/JH. 21st October, 1936. J.N. Longley Esq., Chief Chemist, Messrs. Ferodo Ltd., Chapel-en-le-Frith. Dear Mr. Longley, We recently fitted a set of Ferodo BZ to a customers Bentley. This car had twice previously been returned to the Works, suffering from the most appalling brake squeaks, the friction linings being our standard Ferodo MR. Since fitting the BZ linings we have been rung up to say that his brakes are still squeaking. Consequently I am writing to ask if you know of a lining with a still lower co-efficient of friction, the lining being hard wearing and non-scoring. What do you fit to Bendix brakes ? and what do most American cars use? I am continuing tests with BZ but I should like to have something else in reserve, so will you let me know what else you have got. Yours very truly, | ||
