CENTRAL LUBRICATION.
17-GLV - 10,000 MILES TEST.

Since this test is the proof of the central lubrication, it is suggested that the following routine be carried out :-

Lubrication of car.

Chassis. The pump pedal should be depressed once before starting out i.e., when the car is at even temperature and subsequently every 100 miles in each day's running.

Axles. The front axle should be lubricated every 500 miles (2 days) with the low pressure gun provided. The rear axle every 1000 miles. There is not any need to have the gun on once the pressure stalls, as reservoirs are provided.

Since this chassis is in every respect a replica of the car the Works are producing it is important that we should anticipate the snags likely to occur in service. For instance, the number of depressions given to the pump pedal should be carefully noted so that the approximate mileage and time taken to empty the container can be obtained.

Again, the pump should be allowed to run dry so that the effect of air being forced into the system can be found out, and also whether sufficient warning is given to the passenger by noise or quick pedal return that replenishment is necessary.
