Contd:-5- Cars for Olympia contd: Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} said that Peregrine was further advanced than Bensport and he would see that Peregrine was urged forward and that this would be done without retarding work on J.III. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} also stated that the 20/25's which are to be ordered up in March could be machined in lots of 50 or even 25 if necessary, so as to keep the work in process on this model at a low level in case it is found desirable to introduce J.III at comparatively short notice. Item 1 on agenda. Position re J.III first experimental and future Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} reported that two bodies were being put in hand for J.III Item 2 on agenda. Position re Peregrine - first experimental and future. In view of discussion under heading "Cars for Olympia", E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} will get a push on the work on Peregrine and Bensport. Item 3 on agenda. Re L.H. J.III and Peregrine. Considered too early to discuss this. Fairly easy job when the time comes. Item 4 on agenda. Re Bensport position and programme. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} reported that he was getting on well with the designs. Item 5 on agenda. 12 cyl.engine and last memo to R.{Sir Henry Royce} Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}18/E27.1.32 Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} referred to correspondence with R.{Sir Henry Royce} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} said he was expecting Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} to bring back useful information from America on this subject. Item 6 on agenda. Re 27-EX position and 19-EX for 10,000 miles test with Synchro mesh and other mods. PN.{Mr Northey} will take 27-EX to London tomorrow February 18th for trial by Sales Dept. Carburetters were discussed at some length and Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} gave the results of tests of S.U. and forecasted the probable results which will be obtained from the new design of RR. carburetter. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} stated that 19-EX will be ready for 10,000 miles test on March 15th. contd: | ||
