contd:- -2- OUR COMMENTS. taking down and cleaning out filter. After this we covered 281 miles. In addition to the oil filter we had to stop on the road and again clean out the petrol filter on the carburetter. This is the third time we have been compelled to do this in 1200 miles. All the petrol put in the tank is carefully filtered and we always use our own filter and funnel. On Mar. 28th. we covered 353 miles by running from daybreak until dark. On Mar. 29th. we ran 217 miles. This is the day on which we removed the cross steering tube and examined the steering levers. We also greased all steering joints and front spring shackles as a squeak had developed. We also added water to the batteries to the extent of about 1/4 litre. The car is running well apart from the points mentioned, particularly the engine and the electrical system which are excellent. We have not removed a spark plug and have had no misfiring except when the filter choked up. We are now investigating this complaint on 6-Goshawk-11 which we are preparing for sending to France as Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} second car. ----------------------------- Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} | ||
