x6051 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.7/MA. 13th October, 1933. H.R. Buckland Esq., The A.T. Speedometer Co.Ltd., Chronos Works, North Circular Road, London, N.W.2. Dear Mr.Buckland, I have ascertained that the R.R.50 alloy is less than half the weight of SPG sinz alloy, but as its strength is also easily twice as much as the SPG you ought to be able to reduce the weight of your casting by a quarter. High Duty Alloys supply the material to anyone in ingot form. I cannot at the moment suggest a better alloy for the cup but I should imagine they are alloys with much less temperature variation than Duralumin. Many thanks for all your kindness yesterday. Yours sincerely, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
