Body subframe, using subframe brackets F.72192, F.73239 to N. Sch. 2001/2.
There is evidently considerable side strain on bolts holding body to subframe, as we have broken three bolts in this position. We have reported considerable side movement of the body. This is to such an extent that the front of the scuttle, i.e. gusset plate, has been knocked out of shape, & has ground the corners away of the dashboard. The rear bolts have remained intact, & all brackets appear to be O.K. from outside examination. We are increasing the clearance holes in the brackets & subframe as instructed by Derby.

Pedals.
Improved accelerator pedal "B" type, to N.Sch.2044.
Clutch pedal to give required movement for "B" type clutch. Foot brake pedal.
All pedals have operated satisfactorily throughout the test, & bearings of same have remained in a very good condition.

General examination underneath the car of frame & fittings;
We cannot find any deterioration in the tie rod brackets, diagonal stays & brackets, rear road spring main bearing supports, & cross tubes & equalising shafts. The modified stiffener for front & rear buffers has prevented the frame from being bulged inwards.

Total weight of car with Limousine body, 20 gallons of petrol, water, oil, tool kit, ballast, driver & assistant ........................................ 2 tons 19 cwts.

Total average speed during test .......... 38.79 m.p.h.
" " petrol consumption " " .......... 10.69 m.p.g.
" " oil " " .......... 2448.64 m.p.g.

Weather conditions during test have been mostly wet & cold, with frost, rain & fog.

Standard "Dunlop" 33 x 5 S.S. cord tyres used on test - tyre pressures, front 50 lbs. rear 55 lbs. per sq. inch.
