contd:- -2- Test 8. As No.7 but oil put in at bottom of clutch. Result. Spigot dry. Test 9. Oil grooves in cage made 1/8 wide. Baffle not fitted. 1 syringeful of oil put in clutch at top. Result. Good film of oil on spigot. Test 10. Same as No.9. but oil put in at bottom. Result. Spigot dry. Test 11. Sharp edge of flywheel where ball race fits chamfered off Clutch bearing. bevelled off on outside and chamfered off on the inside. [Diagram of a bearing race] 1 syringeful of oil put in at bottom. Result. Spigot dry. Test 12. Inner ball race ground inside sharp edge round to prevent oil following edge - standard cage fitted. 1 syringeful of oil put in at bottom. Inner ball race ground inside to a larger dia. at back to let oil run to back of race when standing. 1 syringeful of oil put in at bottom. Result. Spigot dry. Test 14.
