6. (Cont'd) Item 6 on Agenda. J.II. progress generally.

The question as to whether it was the right thing to do in pressing for the introduction of J.II. for next Olympia Show was raised by Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} He contended that the date was not a convenient one as it meant ordering material in February next and this was too soon from his point of view as a reasonable amount of development work could not be done by that time.
Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} also pointed out that from a performance point of view, which after all is the chief concern of the customer, J.II. is little better than the 20/25 and there is no reason why it should be much better.
Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} said he appreciated these points but that as J.II. could be increased in size by fitting the J.III. cylinder liners the work should go on as usual and if alteration in size is required it could be made at any time and with little trouble.
The whole situation will receive further consideration by Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}

It was decided that the 20/25 be fitted with:-

1. Adjustable Shock Dampers.
2. Quiet Carburetter.
3. Silent second gear.

as soon as possible, and before Peregrine is issued so that Peregrine will not be ahead of 20/25 in respect of these three features.

7. Item 7 on Agenda. Peregrine generally.

Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} read notes as follows:-
"Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} says the engine is now almost clear and little
"else is required on this unit.
"Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} to review question of Tools, Material and Costs
"to find out exactly where we are on each of these
"items at the moment.
"Peregrine No.8 which is in France has done about
"4,000 miles. Reports have been issued on troubles
"experienced. No.3. Peregrine is now running and No.1.
"is being rapidly made up-to-date with a view to
"replacing No.2. in France.

Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} note - Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}4/MJ.28.11.32. referring to the building of six Peregrine chassis was read and discussed.
Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} asked for Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}'s opinion, and Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} said the suggestion was a good one as it would assist in investigating jig and tool problems, and also help in going into times and costs. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} said we should go further
