(2) presence of the magneto drive shaft and as it is again undesir- able to leave the cover loose jangling about and shorting the brushes while the engine is running we have arranged to clamp it by means of the lubricator as shewn on LeC 1571. We should be glad to know if the Works consider that a practical inspection of the brushes can be made under these conditions. We have not altered the dynamo cover or the dy{F R Danby}- namo itself beyond asking for a lock washer under the lubricat- or. All that is required is a special form of lubricator and a hole in the cover, this hole being normally at the bottom of the cover when in position on the dynamo. So far as we can see the dynamo cover can be easily slipped off over the top of the lubricator for the purpose of clamping. It is intended that the lubricator/cover will be prevented from coming right off should it become unscrewed when the cover is in it's normal position on the dynamo.
