Calorizing of Exhaust Pipes - "V" Series.

I confirm mine Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}4/WJ11.8.25.

This morning we are in receipt of a further letter from the Calorizing Corporation of Great Britain, dated 12th inst. stating that the question of calorizing our tubes has been gone into at the Works at Felling-on-Tyne and the tubes we sent are being treated in accordance with the instructions conveyed in By14/H6.6.25.

With regard to the long tube, the Calorizing Corporation remark that for any future orders it would be much cheaper if we could send this tube for calorizing as a plain straight tube and then do any necessary bending ourselves after treatment. They state that as it is, the pipe is bound to be somewhat distorted and we shall have to correct this.

The Calorizing Corp. ask us to take particular care to see that the pipe is heated to a bright cherry red before bending, or otherwise the calorized surfaces will crack.

Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}
