Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}10/NJ24.8.25. Calorizing of Exhaust Pipes - "V" Series. I confirm mine Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}7/NJ13.8.25. On the 14th inst. we wrote the Calorizing Corporation of Great Britain advising them that we were despatching to their Works at Felling-on-Tyne 2 further sets of tubes E.72868/9/70 for calorizing, making with the set previously sent 3 sets in all. I explained that we were not prepared to take the risk of bending the long tube from straight to the desired form after calorizing, although we are quite prepared to adjust any distortion which may take place in the bent tube during calorization. I added that we had taken note that before attempting to correct any deformation in calorized tubes, same must be heated to a bright cherry red. The 3 sets of calorized tubes E.72868/9/70 have now arrived here from Felling-on-Tyne and are in Stores. Will Dn. please arrange that an order be addressed to:- The Calorizing Corporation of Great Britain, Carlton House, Regent Street, London, S.W.1 to cover the calorizing of these 3 sets of tubes. This note will serve as a requisition. Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} | ||
