Coverley - Production Engineer}/FB June 24th. 1938 - Robotham Esq., Experimental Department, Rolls-Royce Ltd., DERBY. ----- Dear Sir, The Writer happened to be in the company of your Major L.W. Cox last week-end, and brought to his notice the Luber-Finer Oil Refiner, concerning which we have had a certain amount of correspondence with your Mr. Swindall. Unfortunately the unit which we believe you tried was a small unit that the Writer had sent to a personal friend, your Mr. Ivan Waller, to fit to a Vauxhall car that he was running, and the unit in question was fitted with a faulty pack. We would very much like to send you one of our latest units for test, when we think you would find that this particular fitment is definitely ahead of anything else of this type now being manufactured, either in this country or elsewhere. The Writer would very much like to have a personal interview with you to place before you certain experimental figures taken from the records of the Standard Oil Company, to prove this point. Would it be possible for you to give him an appointment, when he would be delighted to run over to Derby at any time, to bring over technical data together with a demonstration set to show you exactly how this fitment deals with oil. We are sure that you must be studying this very vital question, which is receiving so much attention in other parts of the world, where it is desired to obtain the nearest thing to perfection in lubrication.
