To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from CJ. BRAKES. CJ6/E28.12.23. Handwritten text: X9946 (circled), X.4214, X.9940 (struck through), X9946, X.9680 Referring to your secret memo. Hsl/LG20.12.23., please let me know when you have the Hispano running again with its brakes and we will them ask PN.{Mr Northey} to go to Derby to try the Hispano and to try the RR. with the latest RR. brakes. We quite understand that the first brakes to be fitted to the existing 40/50 HP. chassis will have limitations but we cannot say whether the limitations should be overlooked and the chassis delivered to the public with such brakes until suitable tests have been made. If PN.{Mr Northey} is able to drive a car having the new engine on it and the new brakes to the south of France, he will have an opportunity of ascertaining how the brakes behave on some of the hills such as those around Grenoble.
