Re: Dunlop Dome Jack for Bentley Cars.
---------------------------------

We have carried out tests on two sample Jacks submitted by the Dunlop Co.

One of these Jacks we had already asked them to submit incorporates:-

(a) Thrust race to Jack screw, making the operation of the Jack decidedly easier.

(b) A larger base, being a check plate, enabling the Jack to grip better on ground surface.

(c) Fish tail fitting, allowing the Jack handle to be placed in position and removed with much more ease than the present standard Jack.

However, the second Jack supplied has even a better handle fitting, being of a Semi-Universal type, the square end of the handle being retained in position by a spring clip inserted in the Jack winding boss, and we find that this fitting is far more satisfactory. The Jack also incorporates (a) and (b) as above.

The cost of the Jack used at present on Bentley cars is 11/3d., whilst the new type costs 16/4d., an increase of 5/1d., but the improvement on the Jack certainly warrants the increase in price.

We are sending through immediately a Standardisation Sheet for this type of Jack. Meanwhile we will forward this Jack to you for your inspection.
