Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs}5/7.3.41 - 4 - 21 - SPARES FITS IN THE STORES. Mr/WA.{Mr Wallis} reported that there were practically no new type pieces in the Stores. Only spares for existing automobiles. 22 - HINGES. This matter will be taken up with Mr. Ward when he comes to Derby and a production B.V car modified. 23 - TEST BED WORK. Four items require immediate attention on the test bed. They are:- 1 - Petrol consumption. 2 - Idling and tappet noise. 3 - Running after switching off. 4 - Endurance with aluminium camwheel and Vandervell bearings. 24 - AXLE FRAMES. Mr. W.A. was asked to investigate what had been delivered. 25 - S.U. CARBURETTORS. A complete investigation is being made of the manufacturing defects on S.U. carburettors and some decision will be made when the necessary figures are available. 26 - TEST OF WYTH REAR SEALS. Mr. Hives asked Mr/HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} to look into the question of running this in the test house. 27 - VACUUM IGNITOR ON 4-B-50. The fitting of this item does not seem to have made the car any rougher. No consumption figures are available over a reasonable mileage. They are being obtained. | ||
