April 16th.

The car ran 379 miles on April 14th. and on the 15th. 383 miles, making total to date 6921 miles.

The engine has been run on a heavier grade of petrol the last few days. The power is about the same, also carburation, and works out at 19 miles per gallon.

The car is getting bad for rattles. On the over run down hills at slow speeds the car gives you the impression that you are running on a flat tyre, perhaps due to the shock absorbers being so slack that at slow speeds over pot-holes there is not enough damping effect.

There is also noticeable side-play in the springs.

Very shortly the brakes will want readjusting, which will mean taking up at the toggles, having taken all the external adjustment out of the foot brake, they also squeak very badly now. As the brakes have got to this stage, we feel that new liners will be required.
