X88400 To: Hg. From G.W.H. Hotel de France, Chateauroux. 24/2/30. We are unable as yet to use our garage, therefore we are carrying out various consumption and acceleration tests in the meantime, as we cannot get the pit to make an examination of the car and to take oil consumptions, etc. It does not appear to be likely to have the garage fit for use until towards the end of the week. The car generally is running very well, the 2 worst features being firstly the overrun period as you are aware of, secondly the rear axle has developed a low growl on the overrun at slow speeds. Our petrol consumption on the run over here worked out to 16.2 M.P.G. which we consider to be good. The steering of the car we consider this to be good, there was no shocks on the steering wheel, no signs of any wobbles, and the steering very selective. It remains to be seen whether this will stay so good throughout the test. We shall start and forward you the daily runs and reports as soon as we can get the use of our garage. G.W.H. | ||
