JELLYING P.2. x457.

A bare chassis does not jelly. We think
jellying is caused from the rigidity of the body.
We should like a sub frame which is immensely rigid
torsionally between the 4 sub-frame brackets. We
suggest stiffeners in the form of a cross, the arms
of which fasten to the sub-frame above the sub-frame
brackets.

We are hoping that such a sub-frame will cause
a bare chassis to jelly. This would account for
the large variation in the degree of jellying on a
complete car, and would enable us to do some tests on
subframe mounting in order to overcome jellying.
