40/50 CHASSIS SPRINGS.

I am handing RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} today two front and two rear 40/50 springs which have been produced by Messrs. Lemoines in France.

Paris have been for some time agitating to obtain certain things direct in France. I saw no objection to their obtaining the springs from Messrs. Lemoines, but suggested they should have them produced to our drawings and that we should have a set sent to us which you could put on the bumper, after having carefully examined same, so that we would have a record of how they compared with the Woodheads and Firths.

From the general outward appearance the springs appear to be quite good, but we have not checked the diameter of the eyes nor their alignment with the spring. This is a matter that we would like to have some information upon as well, so that we can advise Paris whether we consider the accuracy with which the springs have been produced is sufficiently good.

Check "nip" particularly BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} By
No bow, etc before alignment
of these springs is very good
