BEATONSON ALL-WEATHER BODY. X3730.

We thank you for your note of the 19th inst., and note your comments.

It is thought that the hood may clear the spare wheel when down, but in any case a side wheel carrier will be fitted as well as one at the rear, and when the hood is down the wheel may be carried at the side.

Unfortunately Mr. Royce did not like the idea of carrying the small tools in a shallow box on the running-board, his objection being that the boards will warp and let water in, and also he thought the appearance would not be good. We shewed him the photographs of our standard practice.

We would be glad if you could arrange for a standard specification to be forwarded to us so that we may hand this to the body-builders together with any modifications we ourselves have caused.

Mr. Royce is rather wavering on the question of the sloping screen, and I have told him that we think he should try one of these, as both yourself and Mr. Nutt have found them to be extremely good. Would you kindly confirm this opinion and let us have any further views you may have?

I hope to see Mr. Beaton on Tuesday next, and will then fix up the final technical points, after which work may be put in hand.

Chassis 5.G.11. went to Derby on Tuesday last, the 19th inst., and should be ready very shortly to go to Bromley.
