Speed trials and the Sluggard Car. Contd. (12) not yet had time to go into the question of balance of this engine, owing to the pressure of work. The Committee recommended that further instructions should be issued to Mr Swetnam with reference to this matter, to the effect that the whole of the revolving mases and half the reciprocating masess should be balanced. Mr Barrington reported that instructions had been issued to Mr Swetnam with reference to the intermediate bearing and lubricating pipes, and the larger suction pipes to oil pump. 103rd Meeting Dec.22nd.11. Re Rolls-Royce Hill Climb at Brooklands. Mr Platford had not succeeded in obtaining any definite information concerning the "Daimler" which had successfully climbed this test hill. He had been in touch with "Sales", but the information they obtained was quite insufficient to be of use to us. This matter will be brought up periodically.
