We have received complaint report No.P.114 relating to "rattle in the Rear Silencer", and in the remarks column it is stated "We think the above should have the attention of the Design Dept".

We cannot understand why Paris have opened up the rear silencer and fitted new clips and rivets etc. as in your memo on this subject 14.6.38, you pointed out that Paris had been given details of how to tackle the job, and it would appear you did not find it necessary to open up the silencer as Paris are doing.

As you are going to Paris in the near future, perhaps you will take the matter up again.

We should like to hear from you on this matter, as Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} has raised the question.
