CHASSIS - REAR AXLE CENTRAL PORTION.

We think that now we have turned out at least 200 chassis for the War Office, without brazing the brake brackets to the tube, that you should have sufficient grounds to work upon, in addition to the experiments you have in hand, to make a recommendation for standardising the new scheme of fitting the brackets to the tube without brazing. By the new scheme we should use bolts like the War Office scheme and solder the brackets to the tube to prevent rusting and get good contact and bedding.

The great point is to maintain benefit of heat treatment which the brazing nullifies.
