V4266 To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from CJ. c. to HH (for Ser) CJ/Py4/D31.7.23. Re: Petrol Filler for the 20 h.p. Chassis. The following is an extract from Cr{Mr Cra???ster / Mr Chichester}3/EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/30.7.23, in regard to Chassis No. 59-S-6:- "This owner made one criticism, i.e. with regard to the "angle of the petrol filler on the tank. He said he found that "it required two people, one to hold the funnel, the other the "can, and that even then it was difficult not to spill a lot of "petrol. I imagine the angle was determined to meet the case of "a luggage carrier going right back to the body over the tank, "but in this case, and I suppose in the case of most "20's", "the luggage carrier is well behind the filler owing to the spare "wheel." Will you please let me have your views on the design of this petrol filler, and whether any steps are being taken to overcome the objection which the customer raises? CJ/Py. | ||
