The Secretary,
The Royal Automobile Club,
Pall Mall,
London, S.W.1.

Dear Sir,

Bentley to be used by Mr. E.R. Hall in the Tourist Trophy Race.

Subsequent to Mr. Hudlass' visit to the factory here, at which time we went over all the points on Mr. Hall's car which might be the subject of discussion, we have fitted a modification to the front brake gear of this car which is not in production.

The modification is to prevent the front brakes becoming fierce under arduous conditions of braking produced by the performance of the 4¼ litre engine. It is proposed to fit the parts retrospectively to customers' cars, and in fact two such owners have already been dealt with. These are Mr. Pierson and Mr. Ballantine. We are continuing to fit the parts to customers' cars as and when they become available, and the parts are also going through the Works. The parts consist of a small balance weight fitted to the adjusting mechanism of the front brakes.

The car can be examined at the factory any time up to Wednesday morning of next week, or alternatively during the practice in Ireland.

We shall be glad to know you have no objection to the modification being fitted for the Tourist Trophy Race.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
