STANDARDISATION OF CHASSIS PARTS.
Description of Parts. Battery Ignition. Position of Coil close to Distributor.

Origin. The reduction of the electrostatic effect brought about by this means renders the coil capable of giving a longer spark, so reducing the tendency to misfire by allowing a larger gap to be used at the plugs with the consequent advantage of increase of amplitude of current oscillation in the spark.

Experimental Test Report.
We have shown by expts.(see EFC1/T14.1119) on the bench that a definite reduction in the length of spark obtainable from the coil takes place with increase in the length of H.T. cable, hence it is advisable to reduce the length of H.T. cable as much as possible.

Road Test Report. Extract HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}6/LG20120.
We have had three cars running with this arrgt. of ignition 1EX, 2EX and 49-GB. Although we have not been able to appreciate any distinct gain in this arrgt. we have found no disadvantage in it compared with the standard arrangement.
