Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std. 1039 Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}11/N.2.12.38. Layout of Bonnet for B.38. Herewith is PD.319 shewing the bonnet dimensions for the B.38 type chassis i.e. the B.3. chassis fitted with an eight cylinder engine. The contour at the radiator end is the same as that for B.3. We believe that with the information shewn on this drawing it should be possible to detail the bonnet, applying the B.3. bonnet fitments. A scheme for the bonnet rest plate has to be produced, and this can be done as soon as we are finalised on the height of the front wing cat-walk which will determine the line of junction between the wing valance and the bonnet strip.
