For the attention of Mr.Gollop.

Dear Sirs,

We have received the sample "Tee" hose connection which you sent us, and have examined same.

On the whole we are very satisfied with the job which you have made of this - we have sectionned the connection and are returning same to you for your inspection. Our only criticisms are that there appears to be too little of the inner red rubber coating at the junction of the tee piece, allowing a possibility of the water getting at the canvas reinforcement. we are not particularly anxious about this but would be glad if you could make an improvement at this point.

Secondly, we would like you to avoid as far as possible blocking of the waterway by rubber "flash" at the joint.

The job appears sufficiently satisfactory to proceed with testing. We would accordingly like you to endeavour to clear up the above points. In any case we would like another sample with a minimum of delay, either with or without these defects, in order to avoid holding up an experimental chassis which is being built at the moment.

Yours faithfully,

for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
