DA {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} 2/0101213. -3- instructions to experiment Sept.9/13 - 12664. Piece Nos. being F.3783/4. X158. The results of this test are not yet through. I have never at any time had instructions to alter a standard design, as F.3372/3 were [handwritten: indeed] believed to be, being in manufacture at the time of my arrival. With regard to my request for reports, it was not in connection with this matter, but in connection with buffer springs in cross tubes, that I required them. I may add, that from Mr. Haldenby's report I should have concluded that these pivots were amply strong enough, which is undoubtedly why they were standardised.
