I wonder if anything could be done to speed up standardisation of R.R.59 Alloy Pistons for the Kestrel Engine in place of the present standard Y.Alloy.

This matter has been under discussion on many occasions during recent years, but we are still using the Y.Alloy, the result being:

(a) To the best of my knowledge High Duty Alloys still have to make a special melt for all our Alloy Pistons, as I believe their other clients are now all using R.R.59 Alloy Pistons.

(b) Naturally it is prejudicing their sales efforts in pushing the use of R.R.Alloy, in which we are financially interested. The sale of Y.Alloy does not benefit us financially.
