(7) BONNET CLIPS.

It was thought that the bonnet clip springs had rather a rapid rating, and there was insufficient stroke on the clips as they would only just lift over the bonnet hooks.

(8) LUGGAGE CARRIER.

The luggage carrier screws entered on the thread before engaging the shoulder near the head. The proportions of the screw should be altered so that the shoulder engages first.

Some of the above points it will be seen apply to our future policy, but Mr. Royce states that since 12-EX has been sent back to Derby for the front axle to be changed, was then the following items could also be incorporated in the chassis before it starts the 10,000 miles test.

(a) Pedestal pistons - LeC.2243. These have hollow crowns which we hope will make a smoother engine with slightly more power.

(b) All aluminium carburetter.

(c) Duralumin throttle disc in carb. throttle valve.

(d) Still lighter flywheel. AJS. will send particulars.

(e) Metal piston in the oil relay for the ignition control.

(f) Duralumin main bearing caps. These are not on your list hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/LG21.6.26., but we understood that they were on the engine.

(g) Oil relief valves - LeC.2257.
